Balancing nutrition
I bought this product to feed a new research colony of morabine grasshoppers (Vandiemenella), which was suffering a high mortality rate. Their diet in nature is poorly known and we were concerned that the food plant we were giving them wasn't providing all the nutrients they needed in the right proportions. They definitely ate the Orthopteran Food and the death rate has dropped substantially, so it may be that this product made the difference. Providing a broad dietary choice is the best way to allow herbivores to self-regulate their nutritional intake and using the Orthopteran Food is a great way to achieve this.
