    Giant banded huntsman spider

I am very happy with my little one . I have had her since the first of October and she is already 110 +22 mm from 40 +10 mm . Very lively and great at catching crickets. Only downside is the amount of spider diarrhoea on the acrylic enclosure but that's a given. Great spider i highly recommend

not too long ago someone bought this spider for me as a gift, i had owned many spiders at that point however i had never had any kind of huntsman before this and now i think huntsman are my FAVOURITE spiders. When she first arrived i tried to put her directly into her cage but the second i opened the lid of the container she arrived in she dashed straight onto my hand and proceeded to just sit there and chill i got her in there eventually and named her daisy, she's by far the friendliest spider i have i don't handle her unless its necessary but whenever i feed her she dashes right up to me, sometimes she even watches me while i work from her cage

    Escape artist, sleeps all day

Received as a healthy spider. Very skittish (as expected). Escaped from the enclosure the first night. Found it on the wall staring at me. Have noticed some behaviours that seem specific to Holconia species: - Not as shy as other species (like Heteropoda). - Fussy eaters; will only eat on their own schedule. Best to leave food in the enclosure and wait until they're ready. - Prefer to eat/hunt at night. Mine now lives in the tiniest crack in some leaf litter and seems happily at home. Will grow into a giant spider. Very excited.
