    Update on Goldie's successor, Banana!

Posted by Oliver and Russell Young on 13th Apr 2023

Little Banana arrived happy and healthy this morning! She is about 3cm and already ate a cricket. Two of my friends also ordered one each and the huntsman came on the same day as Banana! My friends happened to be coming over to my house today and they brought the huntsmen with them. One has named theirs Citrus and the other hasn't decided yet. Those huntsmen also arrived well and one also took a cricket on the first day!

One of Australia's most impressive spiders

Posted by Jackson Nugent on 12th Apr 2023

I've been wanting this species for years, and was checking this website multiple times a day for updates. Needless to say, when the opportunity arose, I seized it without a second thought. The postage was delayed due to the Easter long weekend, and I was a little nervous, but thankfully all three spiders arrived in great condition, and two had molted in transit. Looking forward to seeing them grow into beautiful golden giants!

Recount of Goldie's life in my care

Posted by Oliver and Russell Young on 7th Apr 2023

When Goldie the Golden Huntsman first arrived in March 2020, she was a 4cm little sling and tackled down a cricket right away. They are a peach colour when juveniles. As she moulted and grew, her temperament got more relaxed and she would sit in my hand and clean her legs often. Also, she became more and more gold. I soon realised this was my first female huntsman from Minibeast, and it was a Golden huntsman! She ate wonderfully and grew to an impressive size of 15cm across! Best of all, she was a neon yellow gold colour. Sadly, she died only a few days ago but lived a year longer than a huntsman's normal lifespan - she ran around for 3 and a half years! I have already ordered another one of these and a cave huntsman and can't wait until they arrive next week!
